Fun Times

Our fun vacation started on Friday morning, Darwin's sister came down from Idaho with her girls and Denton got to play with his cousins at the park and at Annie Grams and Grandads house.

Friday afternoon we took off to go camping up by Mirror Lake with our friends from Oregon, they were nice enough to drive all the way to Utah to go camping with us. It was so much fun to see them again, just like old times.

Darwin took a VERY COLD swim in the lake.

Denton was a really good camper, he helped Darwin build the fire but as soon as it started to get big he was very careful and cautious around it.

On the drive home from camping we decided instead of Darwin flying to Arizona that night for work we would drive down so we could all go. Nothing like getting home from camping to shower unpack and re-pack as fast as we could so we wouldn't be driving ALL night.

Denton is the best traveler. We told him that we were going to Arizona (he had no idea what that really meant)and off we went, when we got to Beaver (about 3 hrs into the drive) we discovered that in our hurry to leave we forgot Dentons shoes so he couldn't get out and walk around to stretch his legs. We decided that we would just stop in Page and get him some shoes at the Wal-mart there. When we got to Page Denton did NOT want to get out of the car, we had been in the car now for over 6 hrs. I'm not sure what his idea of Arizona was but he said "No Wal-mart, just Arizona" Even though we were "in" Arizona we didn't want to tell him we were there because we still had a long drive ahead of us, Anyway we finally told him he had to have shoes to go to Arizona and he happily got out of the car.

This hotel was so beautiful and guess what, it even had robes. That's when you know your at a really nice hotel, good thing we didn't have to pay for it. It's way out of our price range. It had it's own golf course, several restaurants and pools this is definitely the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Thanks SUNDT for bringing Dar's company to your convention.

I didn't know there was a store named after the town I grew up in.

Denton and his new little buddy Luke, they had so much fun playing together and racing.

We had so much fun seeing our friends in Arizona. It's funny what a difference 2 years makes. 2 years ago we were all hanging out all the time until all hours of the night with no kids around, now all of us have at least 1 child and can only hang out until 9 because the kids are crying and it's way past their bed time.

Got carseat hair???

Denton did great on the ride home too. We told him we were in Utah when we got to Provo. He kept saying "go, go Utes" When we pulled into the garage he started crying, "no, go Utes" I'm not sure where he wanted to go but once again he didn't want to get out. Keep in mind this was about a 12hr drive. We reminded him that his toys were inside so he got out. What a funny kid.

We had a great vacation and look foreward to seeing our friends again soon.

It's been a while

So quite a few things have happened since I blogged last, here is an update.

Darwin got a new job. He is now working for a consulting company as the sales and marketing manager. He's been there for about 3 months now I think, so far he likes it a lot. There seems to be a lot of potential for him there so we are very excited about that.

We moved. At the end of May we packed up(once again) and we moved to Cottonwood Heights. Darwin's parents are buying the Duplex we are in and they live next door to us which has been really fun. We are loving our new place, it's probably our favorite so far. We like it so much Darwin actually wanted to buy some new furniture to make it look even better. We have a little back yard for Denton to play in, of course I've managed to find some little places to throw in some seeds. Things are actually growing so that makes me happy because I am a gardening addict now.

Denton turned 2. We had a really fun Thomas Birthday Party for Denton, he got spoiled by his Grandparents and Great Grandma's. I made Denton's cake, I thing it turned out really cute! I posted pics on FB so I am just going to post a couple. It was so fun, he got excited for and loved every present. Denton is getting so big, it's so much fun. He teases and thinks of little games all the time. He is also talking so much, he constantly asks me "what's that Mommy" He is learning his colors, numbers and ABC's. The colors and ABC's are going pretty good but numbers are a little out of order. He usually says 1,2,7,8,9,10,11. he used to say 1,2,5 and go up from there but I think he got a number overload one day and it confused him. He still loves to sing and his new favorite songs are Book of Mormon Stories, I hope they call me on a mission, Row, row, row your boat and Ring around the rosie. He is getting better at singing the songs he knows all the way through all by himself, which is really cute! Yesterday he wanted us to do everything "together" it's the first day he's said, "sing together Mommy", "play together", he noticed that we were doing things together, for some reason that just made my day, I thought it was so cute and it made him seem older for learning that. I know I'm crazy but oh well. I could write about Denton all day, he does so many cute and frustrating things, but I won't.

All in all things are going good for us these days.

Easter

The Easter bunny hid Denton's basket under the table, he was very excited to see it. He loved the cookies and candy.

Darwin's basket was hidden in the fridge.

My basket was hidden in the tub filled with New Moon things and so much candy. The Easter bunny thinks he's really funny getting me all of the New Moon stuff! I'm really not obsessed I promise!

We had a great Easter relaxing and watching Conference, then dinner with the Fam.

We have been able to play outside a bit and go to the park, of course Denton doesn't ever want to leave the park. I am so excited for many more warm summer days to come. Denton and I have so much fun outside doing bubbles and drawing with sidewalk chalk.

Denton is talking a lot now and I think it's so cute when he tells me "good job Mommy" when I latch his carseat or do other simple tasks. He still loves Basketball, we love to hear him cheer "nice shot, oh miss it, pass, pass, shoot, shoot and almost." Now of course all of his cuteness comes with tantrums, dirty looks and Many many NO's. All in all he's a pretty easy going cute little man.

More news to come soon and no I'm NOT pregnant, I wish!

What's up with the Millet's?

Mom and Dad have some Big shoes to fill! Denton loves shoes, he's allways carrying shoes around and trying to put them on.

Denton will just sit or lay down and look at books, I love it!

I wish I would have taken this picture before I sent out our Christmas cards.

Denton LOVES playing Basketball, this picture was taken on Christmas morning. He also loves to watch Football, he is really starting to get into it, he yells "THROW, THROW" and "RUN, RUN" and also says "oh no" when the get tackled. He asks several times a day to watch football.

Denton is so much fun, he loves to look at and read books, his favorites are Dr Seuss books and books with songs. Denton loves to sing his I would have to say his favorite song right now is "Jeeba", interpretation - John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt (not so sure of the spelling)some of his other favorites are; I hope they call me on a mission, Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, twinkle twinkle little star,Old MacDonald, The itsy bitsy spider, well I guess just about any song we sing to him. I have so much fun singing with him and watching him learn.

Denton's very favorite things in the whole world are, flags, any type of ball, airplanes, and stars. He gets so excited when he hears our garage door open because he knows that means his Daddy is home. Darwin has been working 2 jobs and going to school so we don't see him much Denton loves to be with his Daddy every minute he can when he's home.

On the flip side Denton is starting to get a bit more curious and trying to get into more things, it's amazing how far those little arms and fingers can reach. All in all we are doing good and LOVE being so close to our families again.
